Loula Photography By Louise McCabe
‘Loula’ (pronounced “loo-lah”) is a special word to many with symbolic meanings in cultures far and beyond. In Arabic, ‘Loula’ is a term of affection that is used to express love and tenderness towards a family member, often between a parent and child. In French, ‘Loula’ is a nickname for Louise, meaning ‘famous warrior’ - which I will happily accept as a compliment on behalf of all Louises of this world.
While in my family, the youngest (my nephews) are often referred to as a being a “Loula” when running around, having fun and usually up to no-good…
As my four wild (but very cute) nephews inspired me to finally start this venture, it seems only fitting to name it after them.
welcome
I’ve been taking photos of family and friends for as far back as I can remember. Thanks to my parents, I was gifted my very first film camera when seven! I still have it to this day (it’s bright yellow), along with albums of printed memories it produced back in the 90’s.
I discovered my love for baby photography in 2018 when I became an aunt for the first time to little Cian. I always remember that joyous feeling of gifting my sister and her husband portraits of their newborn boy, heirloom pieces of art to treasure forever. Tiny toes, little fingers and everything in between, it’s hard to believe my nephew was once so little.
Whether you are welcoming a new little one to your family or celebrating a special occasion, milestones deserve to be documented with artistic and timeless portraits. It would be my pleasure to help you create lasting family memories forever. Please take a few moments to glance through my work and if you like what you see, I would love to hear from you.
Le grá,
Louise
